Rachel offers millinery workshops for those who wish to explore this fascinating art, or simply want a unique and original way to celebrate an event.

Whether for a hen party or birthday celebration, or because you wish to create a unique headpiece for a special occasion, Rachel will guide you through each step of the process and help you to master the techniques at your own pace.  Rachel has experience of teaching millinery and crafts to all ages, to hen parties, companies, charities and SEN groups, as well as on a one-to-one basis.

Monday 10th June, 10:00am – 12:30pm at Jane Fuest Gallery, Alresford

Do you have an old hat sitting on top of your wardrobe that has seen better days?  Rachel will help you refresh your hat to give it a new lease of life with updated trimmings from a choice of feathers, ribbons, veiling and flowers.  You will also learn how to smooth out any unsightly lumps and bumps.  Embrace the trend for upcycling and update your look for this season’s weddings in this interactive workshop.

Monday 10th June, 2:00 – 4:30pm at Jane Fuest Gallery, Alresford

Millinery designer Rachel Drewer will help you to design and make a fascinator from scratch, the perfect accessory for summer weddings and race days.  You will explore a range of millinery materials including feathers, quills and veiling, and you will be inspired to create a unique piece to complement you and your outfit on a headband or comb.  As well as your finished handmade piece, you will acquire new skills and ideas to inspire further craft projects.

Let Rachel inspire you to design and create your own individual and eye catching cocktail hat or headpiece.  You will start by creating a small hat block from scratch to your own unique design, then learn how to block sinamay over it, finishing with fun and distincitive trimming from a choice of feathers, quills, lace, crinoline and more.  Why not coordinate your design with an outfit for a special occasion and be the envy of your friends?  Courses cost £145 and are held at Barry Rogers School of Sewing, Southampton.

Come and discover the rural idyll of Rachel’s millinery studio and all the many possibilities it inspires.  Spend a day with Rachel one-to-one, learning millinery skills and techniques, and exploring designs and materials.  Let your imagination lead you.  Whether you want to make a headpiece or a hat, this is the perfect way to gain a foundation in millinery.  Price £125 per person per day with some materials included.
